Publication Fees
Applied Information System and Management (AISM) states all author fees in advance. The fees below apply to manuscripts submitted from 1 June 2025. No fee is charged at submission or during peer review, and no fee affects any editorial decision.

Maximum total cost: an accepted article costs no more than IDR 1,500,000 or USD 85 in total (publishing fee plus proofreading fee). There are no other charges, such as page, color, figure, or DOI charges.
Article Proofreading Fee
All articles in AISM are published in English. After acceptance, the copyeditor checks the language of each manuscript. The proofreading fee covers professional English editing of grammar, spelling, punctuation, word choice, sentence structure, and consistency of terminology. It does not change the scientific content, data, or conclusions, and the authors approve every change before publication.
The proofreading fee is a single flat rate. There are no levels or additional charges based on article length or the amount of editing.

How the proofreading fee is determined and charged:
- After acceptance, the copyeditor checks whether the manuscript needs English language editing.
- The editorial office sends the corresponding author a written notice by email, stating that editing is needed, with examples from the manuscript, and the fee of IDR 500,000 or USD 20.
- Within 7 days, the authors choose one option: (a) accept the journal's proofreading service and its fee; or (b) have the manuscript edited by a professional service or a qualified editor of their choice, at their own cost, and return the revised manuscript with an editing certificate. With option (b), the proofreading fee is IDR 0, provided the revised manuscript meets the journal's language standard.
- Proofreading begins only after the authors agree to the notice. No proofreading fee is charged without the authors' written agreement.
- The edited manuscript is returned to the authors with all changes tracked for their approval.
The proofreading assessment takes place after acceptance and is separate from peer review. Whether proofreading is needed, and which option the authors choose, never affects the acceptance decision. Authors who disagree that editing is needed may ask for a second assessment by another editor.
Payment
- Fees are paid only after acceptance. The editorial office sends an invoice listing the publishing fee and, where applicable, the agreed proofreading fee.
- Payment is made by bank transfer to: Mandiri Bank 164-00-0545617 (RPL 133 UIN Syarif Hidayatullah). International authors may pay in USD by transfer to Mandiri Bank 164-00-0545617 (RPL 133 UIN Syarif Hidayatullah). Bank charges are paid by the sender.
- Please send proof of payment to aism.journal@apps.uinjkt.ac.id with the submission ID in the subject line. An official receipt is issued for each payment.
- Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice. The article is scheduled for publication after payment is received.
Waivers and Discounts
Authors who are unable to pay may request a full or partial waiver of the publishing fee and the proofreading fee. Waivers are considered for authors from countries classified as low-income or lower-middle-income by the World Bank, students without research funding, and other cases of demonstrated financial hardship. Requests are sent to the Managing Editor before payment, with a short explanation. Waiver decisions are made by the Managing Editor and are not known to the reviewers or the handling editor, so they cannot affect the review or acceptance decision.
Withdrawal and Refunds
- Authors may withdraw a manuscript at any stage before publication. No fee is charged for withdrawal before acceptance.
- If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before payment, no fee is charged.
- Fees that have been paid are refunded in full if the article is not published for reasons attributable to the journal. Fees are not refunded if the authors withdraw the article after payment, or if the article is withdrawn because of a breach of the journal's Publication Ethics.
Use of Fees and Editorial Independence
Fees support copyediting, proofreading, layout, DOI registration, archiving, and the operation of the journal website. AISM is also supported by the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (see Ownership and Management). Editors and reviewers are not involved in fee matters, and payment does not guarantee acceptance or speed up review. AISM does not offer paid fast-track review or early letters of acceptance.
