Management Structure and Responsibilities

The journal is managed by an editorial team whose members are appointed for their qualifications and experience in the journal's field, not by virtue of their position. The current members are listed on the Editorial Team page, and the peer reviewers, who are separate from the editorial team, are listed on the Reviewers page.

Editor in Chief Leads the journal; sets editorial policy; makes the final decision on every manuscript based on reviewer reports and editors' recommendations; is responsible for the journal's ethics and integrity. The Editor in Chief is affiliated with an institution domiciled in Indonesia.
Managing Editor Coordinates the editorial workflow and publication schedule; manages the online system, metadata, DOIs, indexing, and archiving; serves as the support contact.
Editors Screen manuscripts for scope and quality; assign and follow up reviewers; evaluate reviewer reports and make recommendations to the Editor in Chief; ensure consistency of the journal's house style.
Advisory Editorial Board Advises on the journal's strategic direction, scope, and international development, and promotes the journal within the academic community.
Peer Reviewers Evaluate the scientific quality of manuscripts under double-blind review and give substantive, constructive comments. Reviewers do not use artificial intelligence tools to review manuscripts.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and the journal's policies. They are made independently by the editorial team, free from inappropriate influence by the publisher, the university, collaboration partners, sponsors, advertisers, service providers, or any commercial interest. Payment of the publication fee has no effect on any editorial decision.

Revenue Sources

AISM is funded from two sources:

  • Institutional support from the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, including the journal server, staff, and operational costs; and
  • Publication fees paid by the authors of accepted manuscripts. There is no submission fee. The full and current fees are listed on the Publication Fees page.

These funds cover editorial management, peer review coordination, copyediting, layout, DOI registration, indexing, hosting, and archiving, and allow the journal to provide immediate open access to all articles at no cost to readers.

Advertising Policy

AISM does not currently accept commercial advertising. If advertising is accepted in the future, it will be placed only on separate, clearly labelled areas of the website or on separately numbered pages, will not interrupt the journal's page numbering, will not dominate the journal's website, and will never influence editorial decisions.

Direct Marketing

AISM promotes the journal and its calls for papers through its website, the official university channels, academic networks, and conferences. Invitations to submit are sent only to relevant academics and never promise acceptance or a guaranteed publication date. AISM does not use third-party agents to solicit manuscripts.

Integrity Commitments

  • AISM does not offer or promise "fast-track" publication that guarantees acceptance.
  • A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued only after a manuscript has been formally accepted through peer review.
  • AISM and its publisher do not produce or broker manuscripts, do not promise acceptance or accreditation outcomes, and do not manipulate citations, metadata, or publication dates.
  • Members of the editorial team may publish in AISM at most one article per year. Such manuscripts follow the regular review process, and the author takes no part in handling or reviewing their own manuscript.
  • The publisher develops the capacity of editors and reviewers through training, publication ethics briefings, mentoring, and performance evaluation.

Changes in Ownership or Management

Any change in the journal's name, e-ISSN, publisher, affiliation, focus and scope, website address, or publication frequency will be reported to the Directorate General responsible for journal accreditation and announced on the journal website, while preserving the traceability of the journal's archive, metadata, DOIs, and editorial records.
