OPEN ACCESS POLICY
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative.
Budapest Open Access Initiative
The Budapest Open Access Initiative explains that scholarly journal literature should be freely available on the public internet. Open access allows users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, crawl articles for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than access to the internet itself.
The main purpose of open access is to accelerate research, enrich education, widen the visibility and impact of scholarly work, and support a global intellectual exchange of knowledge. The only necessary constraint on reproduction and distribution is to preserve the integrity of the author's work and ensure proper acknowledgement and citation.
Although peer-reviewed journal literature should be accessible online without cost to readers, producing and managing scholarly publications still requires resources. Open access therefore encourages sustainable publication models that remove access barriers while maintaining editorial quality, peer review, and scholarly integrity.
Recommended Strategies for Open Access
I. Self-Archiving
Scholars are encouraged to deposit their refereed journal articles in open electronic archives. Through self-archiving, research outputs can be discovered, indexed, and accessed more widely by readers, search engines, libraries, and academic communities.
II. Open Access Journals
Scholars and institutions are encouraged to develop and support journals that provide permanent open access to published articles. Open access journals use copyright and licensing mechanisms to protect author acknowledgement while allowing wider use and dissemination.
Access and Use
- Readers may access all published articles immediately after publication.
- Readers may download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles.
- Articles may be used for lawful academic, educational, and research purposes.
- Users must preserve the integrity of the work and provide proper acknowledgement and citation.
- No subscription or access fee is charged to readers or institutions.
Policy Statement: AISM supports open access to peer-reviewed scholarly literature as a means of improving research visibility, readership, citation impact, academic collaboration, and the public exchange of knowledge.
