TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology

TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology (E-ISSN 2654-7244) is published by the Faculty of Psychology, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University of Jakarta, Indonesia. The journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity, editorial independence, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing.

This Advertising Policy establishes the principles governing advertising, promotional content, and commercial relationships associated with the journal. Any advertising or commercial activity, where applicable, must support the journal's academic mission and must not compromise the quality, independence, or integrity of its editorial and publication processes.

TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology prioritizes the dissemination of original quantitative empirical research in psychology. Decisions concerning manuscript evaluation and publication are based on scholarly merit, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, research integrity, and applicable editorial standards, not on advertising revenue or commercial interests.

1. Editorial Independence

The editorial team of TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology maintains independence in all decisions concerning manuscript screening, peer review, revision, acceptance, rejection, and publication. Advertising, sponsorship, reprint arrangements, or other commercial revenue must not influence these decisions.

The publisher and editorial team are responsible for ensuring that commercial considerations remain separate from the assessment of scholarly work. Advertisers, sponsors, and other external parties must not determine which manuscripts are published, influence reviewer recommendations, alter editorial conclusions, or obtain preferential treatment in the publication process.

Payment for advertising, promotional placement, sponsorship, or other commercial arrangements does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, expedited peer review, favorable editorial treatment, or publication in a particular issue.

2. Scope of Advertising

Advertising may refer to commercial or institutional promotional materials displayed on the journal's website or other journal-controlled platforms, where such activities are authorized by the journal's management.

Potential advertising categories may include academic books, scholarly conferences, educational activities, research-related services, and other legitimate initiatives relevant to psychology, scientific research, and higher education.

All advertising must be appropriate to the journal's academic context and must not mislead readers, undermine scientific integrity, or imply an endorsement by TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology without explicit authorization.

This policy does not constitute a commitment by the journal to accept paid advertisements or provide advertising space. Any advertising activity is subject to the journal's applicable management procedures and approval.

3. Advertising Acceptance Criteria

Advertising proposals, where applicable, should be assessed for accuracy, legitimacy, relevance, and consistency with the journal's academic purpose and ethical standards.

The journal reserves the right to reject, remove, or discontinue advertising that:

  • Contains false, misleading, deceptive, or unsubstantiated claims.
  • Promotes fraudulent academic services, predatory publishing practices, or deceptive research-related activities.
  • Misrepresents scientific evidence or makes unsupported psychological, clinical, or mental health claims.
  • Violates applicable laws, institutional requirements, intellectual property rights, or ethical standards.
  • Promotes discriminatory, exploitative, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate practices.
  • Misrepresents the journal's identity, editorial policies, publication fees, or scholarly endorsement.
  • Interferes with editorial independence or the confidentiality of the peer-review process.
  • Could reasonably damage the credibility or academic reputation of the journal.

Acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute a guarantee of the quality, effectiveness, scientific validity, or suitability of the advertised product or service. Readers should distinguish promotional material from the journal's scholarly content and editorial statements.

4. Separation of Advertising and Editorial Content

Advertising must be clearly distinguishable from scholarly articles, editorial announcements, author instructions, peer-review communications, and other official journal information. Promotional content must not be presented in a manner that could mislead readers into believing that it has undergone peer review or represents an editorial recommendation.

Advertising must not be incorporated into a scholarly article in a way that compromises the article's academic integrity or creates confusion regarding the source, purpose, or reliability of the research.

The journal's management retains authority over the placement, presentation, and removal of advertising on journal-controlled platforms, subject to applicable institutional procedures and legitimate contractual obligations.

5. Advertising and Peer Review

TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology applies an editorial screening and peer-review process to evaluate the scholarly quality and suitability of submitted manuscripts. Advertising and commercial relationships must not interfere with the confidentiality, impartiality, or integrity of this process.

Advertisers and sponsors must not receive confidential information about submitted manuscripts, authors, reviewers, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, or unpublished research findings through any advertising or commercial relationship with the journal.

Authors must not be required to purchase advertising, promotional placement, or unrelated commercial services as a condition of editorial consideration or publication. Editorial decisions must remain independent of author fees, advertising expenditure, sponsorship, and other commercial benefits.

6. Sponsorship and Commercial Relationships

Any sponsorship, advertising agreement, or other commercial relationship associated with the journal must be managed transparently and separately from editorial decision-making. Actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest must be disclosed and appropriately managed when relevant.

Sponsors and advertisers must not control the content, interpretation, or conclusions of scholarly articles published by the journal. Research funding and other relevant financial relationships must be disclosed by authors in accordance with the journal's applicable policies.

Commercial agreements must not be used to imply that TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology, its publisher, editors, or reviewers endorse a product, service, institution, or research finding without explicit authorization.

7. Advertising Related to Psychology and Mental Health

Given the journal's focus on psychology, particular care must be taken when evaluating promotional material concerning psychological assessment instruments, mental health services, therapeutic interventions, educational programs, and products that make psychological or health-related claims.

Such advertisements must not misrepresent scientific evidence, guarantee unsupported outcomes, exploit individuals experiencing psychological distress, or imply that a product or service has been scientifically validated or endorsed by the journal without appropriate evidence and authorization.

The journal may reject promotional material that could mislead readers about psychological science, professional qualifications, research findings, psychological assessment, or the appropriate use of interventions and services.

8. Digital Advertising and Website Integrity

Advertising displayed on the journal's website, where applicable, must not compromise website security, accessibility, reader privacy, or access to scholarly content.

Advertising must not contain malicious code, deceptive links, unauthorized tracking mechanisms, or practices that improperly collect or disclose personal information. Any collection or processing of personal data associated with advertising must comply with applicable data protection requirements and relevant institutional policies.

The journal may remove digital advertising that creates security risks, disrupts access to scholarly content, misleads readers, or violates applicable technical, ethical, or legal requirements.

9. Complaints Concerning Advertising

Authors, reviewers, readers, institutions, and other interested parties may raise concerns about advertising associated with TAZKIYA Journal of Psychology. Complaints should identify the relevant advertisement or promotional material, explain the nature of the concern, and provide supporting information where available.

The journal will assess complaints within the scope of its responsibilities and may request clarification, review the relevant material, remove or revise advertising, or take other appropriate action.

Concerns involving editorial interference, conflicts of interest, misleading scientific claims, or potential violations of publication ethics will be handled in accordance with the journal's relevant policies and procedures.

10. Policy Administration and Review

The journal's management and editorial team are responsible for implementing this policy within their respective areas of authority. Any advertising activities must comply with the journal's approved procedures and remain separate from scholarly evaluation and editorial decisions.

This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing, digital communication, institutional requirements, and applicable ethical or legal standards.
