Conflict of Interest
AHKAM: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah is committed to ensuring transparency, objectivity, and integrity throughout the scholarly publication process. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence or be perceived to influence the research, peer review, editorial assessment, or publication of a manuscript.
1. Authors' Responsibilities
All authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could inappropriately influence or bias their research or its interpretation. Such relationships may include, but are not limited to, employment, consultancies, research funding, financial support, personal relationships, institutional affiliations, or other competing interests.
A Conflict of Interest Statement must be included in every manuscript submitted to AHKAM prior to the peer-review process. The statement should clearly identify any relevant competing interests.
If no competing interests exist, authors must explicitly include the following statement:
"The authors declare that they have no competing interests."
2. Reviewers' Responsibilities
Reviewers are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers must decline the invitation or withdraw from the review process if their relationship with the authors, institutions, research, or subject matter could compromise their impartiality.
3. Editors' Responsibilities
Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their editorial judgment. Editors who have a personal, professional, institutional, or financial relationship with the authors or the research under consideration must recuse themselves from handling the manuscript. In such cases, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an independent and impartial editorial assessment.
4. Management of Conflicts of Interest
AHKAM will assess disclosed conflicts of interest and take appropriate measures to safeguard the integrity and fairness of the publication process. Failure to disclose relevant competing interests may result in editorial action, including requests for clarification, manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, or other appropriate measures if the article has already been published.
Through this policy, AHKAM: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah aims to maintain an independent, transparent, and accountable scholarly publication process in accordance with recognized international publication ethics standards.
