Author Guidelines
Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah provides a forum to publish original articles, review articles from contributors, and novel technology news related to Islamic law studies (sharia). Research articles dealing with Islamic law studies are particularly welcome. The journal encompasses articles, original research reports, reviews, short communication, and scientific commentaries on Islamic law studies.
All papers submitted to the journal should be written in good Bahasa Indonesia or English or Arabic. Authors for whom English or Arabic is not their native language are encouraged to have their papers checked before submission for grammar and clarity. The work should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The official language of the manuscript to be published in Ahkam journal is English and Arabic.
General Author Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted to Ahkam Editorial Office by Online Submission at the E-Journal portal address: http://journal.uinjkt.ac.id/index.php/ahkam/user/register, where the author register as an author and/or is offered as a Reviewer online. If authors have any problems with the online submission, please contact Editorial Office at the following email: jurnal.ahkam@uinjkt.ac.id.
The following documents should accompany the manuscripts submitted online through the online submission interface (as supplementary files):
- A covering letter outlines the basic findings of the paper and their significance.
- Manuscripts are accepted for publication as original research articles.

Reviewing of Manuscripts
At least two peer-reviewers independently review every submitted paper. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendations. If two or more reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within three months of the submission date.
Revision of Manuscripts
Manuscripts sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to the editorial office through the Online Submission Interface (http://journal.uinjkt.ac.id/index.php/ahkam). The revised manuscripts returned after three months will be considered new submissions.

Guideline for Online Submission
The author should first register as an author and/or be offered as a Reviewer through the following address: http://journal.uinjkt.ac.id/index.php/ahkam/user/register
The author should fulfil the form in as detail as possible where the star-marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, the author clicked on the "Register" button to proceed with the registration. Therefore, the author is brought to an online author submission interface where the author should click on "New Submission". In the Start, a New Submission section, click on "' Click Here': to go to step one of the five-step submission process". The following are five steps in the online submission process:
- Step 1 Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate journal section, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
- Step 2 Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item, choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, and then click the Upload button.
- Step 3 Entering Submission's Metadata: In this step, detailed authors metadata should be entered, including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox, including keywords.
- Step 4 Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary files should be uploaded, including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.
- Step 5 Confirming the Submission: The author should finalize the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to the Al-Iqtishad journal, click the Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email. It can view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
After this submission, the Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript review and editorial process.

All articles published in Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options, currently being defined for this journal as follows:

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
1. The manuscripts represent academic research in Islamic law (sharia).
2. Upon the publication of the manuscript, the author should provide a letter stating that the manuscripts have never been, or are under consideration to be, published in other journal publications.
3. Structure of the manuscripts
- Title. The title should be short, clear, and informative but does not exceed 12 words. The title should be in English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Author's names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions and email addresses, without any academic titles and/or job titles.
- Abstract and keywords. The abstract should be less than 150 -160 words. The abstract should be in English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia. The keywords should be 4 to 5 phrases in English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Introduction. This section explains the study's background and the manuscripts' aims. It should be written without numbers and/or pointers.
- Result and Discussion. This section explains the results of the study.
- Conclusion. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of the study.
- References. This section lists only the papers, books, or other types of publications referred to in the manuscript.
4. The authors should provide an index of the subject, namely the specific terms in the manuscript. The authors should also provide the index of authors, namely the key authors of papers referred to in the manuscript. Please write the family name followed by the given name.
5. Acknowledgment, if any, should be written as the footnote of the manuscript's title.
6. The manuscript is prepared in an A-4 paper, single-sided, and double-space format. A new paragraph should start five characters from the left margin, using a 12-size Times New Roman font.
7. The manuscript should be no less than 7000-10000 words.
8. The top and bottom margins are 1 inch.
9. The title is written using capital letters of 14 font size and centre position.
10. Sub titles are written using capital letters, starting from the left margin.
11. Sub titles are written using capital letters only at the beginning of each word except for connecting words. They should be started from the left margin.
12. References should be those of the last ten years' publication unless they are key references.
13. Transliteration guidance (from Arabic to Latin)
Arabic romanization should be written as follows:
Letters: ', b, t, th, j, ḥ, kh, d, dh, r, z, s, sh, á¹£, á¸, á¹, ẓ, ', gh, f, q, l, m, n, h, w, y.
Short vowels: a, i, u. long vowels: Ä, Ä«, Å«. Diphthongs: aw, ay. TÄ marbÅ«á¹Ä: t. Article: al-. For detailed information on Arabic Romanization, please refer to the transliteration system of the Library of Congress (LC) Guidelines.
14. The manuscript should accompany a brief CV that records full name, academic title, institution, telephone, fax, and mobile number.
