Correction and Retraction

AHKAM: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of its scholarly record. Any errors or cases of publication misconduct identified after publication will be handled in accordance with established publication ethics and international standards of scholarly publishing, including the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal applies the following procedures:

1. Correction (Erratum/Corrigendum)

A correction notice will be published when minor errors are identified in a published article that do not substantially affect its findings, interpretation, or overall conclusions. Such errors may include typographical mistakes, incorrect author names or affiliations, missing references, or minor errors in data presentation.

The correction notice will clearly identify the original article and explain the changes made. The corrected version will remain linked to the original publication to ensure transparency and preserve the scholarly record.

2. Retraction

A retraction will be issued when an article is found to contain substantial errors or violations of publication ethics that invalidate its findings or undermine the reliability of the research. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of other authors' work;

  • Duplicate or redundant publication;

  • Fabrication or falsification of research data;

  • Serious methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the main findings; or

  • Other forms of research or publication misconduct.

Retracted articles will remain accessible in the journal's online archive to preserve the integrity and traceability of the scholarly record. The article will be clearly marked "RETRACTED", and a formal retraction notice explaining the reason for retraction will be attached to the article and linked to its original publication.

3. Editorial Procedure

All allegations of errors or publication misconduct will be assessed by the Editorial Board through a fair and impartial process. Where necessary, the journal may seek clarification from the authors, consult relevant institutions, or involve independent experts before making a decision.

The final decision to publish a correction or issue a retraction rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the available evidence and applicable publication ethics standards.

Through this policy, AHKAM seeks to uphold academic accountability, protect the credibility of scholarly communication, and maintain public trust in its published research.
