Abstract
Islamic higher education institutions (IHEIs) are expected to innovate while maintaining their value commitments, yet evidence remains limited on how Islamic entrepreneurial leadership (IEL), psychological empowerment (PE), and institutional support (IS) are jointly associated with faculty innovation (FI). This study examines these relationships and evaluates whether the four constructs are empirically distinct. Survey data from 349 lecturers at three Islamic higher education institutions in Jambi, Indonesia, were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) with 1,000 bootstrap resamples. The measurement model showed satisfactory reliability and convergent validity, and discriminant validity was supported by the Fornell–Larcker and HTMT criteria. IS showed the strongest association with FI (β = .457), followed by PE (β = .187) and IEL (β = .176). IEL was strongly associated with IS (β = .571), and its indirect association with FI through IS was significant (β = .261), consistent with complementary partial mediation. The model explained 48.8% of the variance in FI. These findings indicate that faculty innovation in IHEIs is closely associated with supportive institutional conditions and that value-based entrepreneurial leadership is linked to innovation largely through such support.
Abstrak
Perguruan tinggi keagamaan Islam dituntut untuk berinovasi tanpa mengurangi komitmen nilai yang menjadi dasar kelembagaannya. Namun, bukti mengenai hubungan kepemimpinan kewirausahaan Islami (IEL), pemberdayaan psikologis (PE), dukungan institusional (IS), dan inovasi dosen (FI) masih terbatas. Model menjelaskan 48,8% varians FI.
