Author Guidelines
These guidelines are intended to help authors prepare manuscripts that meet the academic, editorial, and technical standards of Jurnal Ilmu Sosial Indonesia (JISI). Manuscripts must be original, written clearly in Indonesian or English, and structured according to the journal template and scholarly writing conventions.
General Submission Rules
|
Originality
The manuscript must be original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal. |
Similarity Check
Authors must check the manuscript using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts should have a maximum similarity score of 15%. |
Language
Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. Articles written in English are highly encouraged to increase international readership. |
Mechanism for Submitting Articles
Authors must submit manuscripts through the online submission system and ensure that all required documents, author identities, and metadata are complete before final submission.
| 1 | Prepare the manuscript according to the JISI template and article writing guidelines. |
| 2 | Attach proof of similarity checking, with a maximum similarity score of 15%. |
| 3 | Complete author metadata, including affiliation, email, ORCID ID, Google Scholar ID, and, where available, Scopus ID and SINTA ID. |
| 4 | Submit the manuscript through the online submission system and monitor the editorial process through the author account. |
Required Structure and Content
Manuscripts must be organized systematically. Each section must serve a clear function and demonstrate the relationship between the research problem, method, findings, discussion, and conclusion.
| Title | The title must be concise, specific, and accurately reflect the main content of the article. Avoid overly general titles and unnecessary phrases such as “A Study of” or “An Analysis of” unless essential. |
| Abstract | The abstract should be self-contained and informative. It must include the research problem, objective, method, key findings, and conclusion. The recommended length is 100–250 words, followed by 5–6 keywords. |
| Introduction | The introduction must present the research background, problem statement, and research objective. It must also include a discussion of previous studies, a clear gap analysis, and the novelty of the manuscript. Authors should explain how the study differs from, responds to, or advances existing research. |
| Method | The method section must explain the research design, data sources, participants or corpus, data collection techniques, analytical procedures, and research instruments where applicable. Authors must clearly state the reason for using the chosen method and explain why it is appropriate for answering the research questions or achieving the research objectives. |
| Results | The results section must present findings that correspond directly to the research objectives and research questions. Data may be presented through narratives, tables, figures, or diagrams, but each finding must be explained clearly and systematically. |
| Discussion | Before the conclusion, authors must provide an analytical discussion that interprets the findings. The discussion must compare the results with previous studies and relate them to relevant theories or conceptual frameworks. Authors should explain whether the findings support, extend, revise, or challenge existing scholarship. |
| Conclusion | The conclusion must answer the research questions directly and summarize the main findings without repeating the discussion. It should include theoretical or practical implications, acknowledge research limitations where necessary, and provide recommendations for future research or policy development. |
| References | References must follow APA Style 7th Edition and should be managed using reference management tools such as Mendeley. Authors should prioritize relevant, recent, and credible academic sources, especially journal articles, proceedings, and scholarly books. |
