Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy
Jurnal Ilmu Sosial Indonesia (JISI) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content.
Digital Preservation Strategy
To ensure permanent access to published articles, JISI implements a digital archiving and preservation strategy through internationally recognized and trusted preservation networks.
The journal participates in the following preservation mechanisms:
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
JISI uses the LOCKSS system to ensure secure and distributed digital preservation. Through this mechanism, copies of journal content are stored in multiple locations managed by partner libraries, thereby ensuring long-term availability and protection against data loss.
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
In addition, JISI supports CLOCKSS as a dark archive that provides independent long-term preservation. In the event of permanent disruption, journal discontinuation, or unavailability of content from the publisher, materials preserved through CLOCKSS may be activated and made publicly accessible in accordance with applicable conditions.
These preservation mechanisms are designed to prevent data loss, maintain content authenticity, and support the sustainability of scholarly communication.
Content Coverage
This archiving and preservation policy applies to:
-
All peer-reviewed research articles
-
Editorial materials
-
Supplementary files associated with published articles
Each archived item corresponds exactly to the final published version of record.
Access to Archived Content
Preserved content remains:
-
Freely accessible without embargo
-
Identical to the version published on the journal website
-
Available for long-term scholarly use
In the event of journal discontinuation or temporary inaccessibility, archived content will remain available through the LOCKSS and/or CLOCKSS mechanisms in accordance with the respective service provisions.
Policy Review and Updates
This archiving and digital preservation policy is reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with international publishing standards and best practices.
Any significant changes to the preservation strategy will be publicly announced on the journal’s website.
