A gas leak is hazardous since it may cause fires, lead to explosions and result in people dying. This is the reason why it is important to have procedures for detecting a gas leak and for stopping it quickly. A smart gas leak system built on the Internet of Things is described in this study. This system is able to detect a gas leak promptly, gives the user an immediate alarm and automatically switches off the gas. It uses an ESP32 microcontroller as its main element. An MQ-2 gas sensor is employed to detect a leak of LPG gas. A relay-controlled solenoid valve is used to stop the gas flow. A buzzer and an I2C LCD display are used to give alarms. A Telegram bot sends messages quickly and enables people to check from a distance. Tests have proved that the system detects gas leaks accurately and reacts swiftly when the gas level goes above the limit. As soon as a gas leak is detected, the system sounds the alarm, closes the valve to stop the further flow of gas and sends a Telegram message. The system offers a real solution for improving gas leak safety by combining instant communication with automatic action. It works well in houses and small factories and can act as a basis for more intelligent gas safety systems in the future.
