Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making scholarly research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and contributes to the advancement of science and scholarship.
This is an open access journal, meaning that all published content is freely available to readers and their institutions without subscription fees or other access charges. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and otherwise use the full text of published articles for any lawful purpose, without prior permission from the publisher or the authors, provided that appropriate acknowledgment and citation are given. These principles are consistent with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) .
Budapest Open Access Initiative
The Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), launched in 2002, represents a landmark declaration in the global movement toward open access to scholarly research. It recognizes the potential of the internet to enable the worldwide dissemination of peer-reviewed scholarly literature and to make research accessible to researchers, educators, students, and the public without financial barriers.
Open access facilitates the discovery, dissemination, and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge. By removing unnecessary barriers to access, it supports research collaboration, strengthens education, broadens the reach of scholarly publications, and promotes the equitable sharing of knowledge across institutions, disciplines, and countries.
In accordance with the principles of the BOAI, open access refers to the free availability of scholarly literature on the public internet, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse full-text articles for lawful purposes, subject to appropriate attribution and any applicable licensing terms.
Strategies for Promoting Open Access
The Budapest Open Access Initiative identifies two complementary strategies for expanding access to scholarly literature:
1. Self-Archiving
Researchers are encouraged to deposit eligible versions of their scholarly articles in institutional or disciplinary repositories and other appropriate open-access archives. Such repositories should follow recognized interoperability standards to facilitate indexing, discovery, and access through search engines and scholarly information systems. Depositing articles must be consistent with the applicable copyright, licensing, and publisher policies.
2. Open-Access Journals
Scholarly journals are encouraged to provide immediate access to their published articles without subscription fees or other reader-access charges. Sustainable funding models may be adopted to support editorial management, peer review, publication, digital preservation, and dissemination. Copyright and licensing arrangements should support the widest lawful dissemination and reuse of published research while protecting authors' rights to proper attribution and acknowledgment.
Commitment to Open Scholarly Communication
This journal is committed to supporting the dissemination of scholarly knowledge through open access. By making research freely available, the journal seeks to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and potential impact of published work and to contribute to an inclusive and collaborative global research environment.
