Plagiarism Policy
Agribusiness Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal only considers manuscripts that are original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication by any other journal.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and that all ideas, data, figures, tables, and statements derived from the work of others are properly acknowledged through appropriate citations and references.
Similarity Check
To ensure the originality of published articles, every manuscript that has successfully passed the peer review process and has been recommended for acceptance will undergo a final similarity check using plagiarism detection software before the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued and before the manuscript proceeds to the copyediting stage.
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references, bibliography, properly quoted text, and small matches.
Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Types of Plagiarism
Agribusiness Journal considers the following practices to be unethical and unacceptable:
- Direct plagiarism (copying another person's work without proper acknowledgment);
- Self-plagiarism or redundant publication;
- Data fabrication or data falsification;
- Duplicate submission or duplicate publication;
- Improper citation or failure to acknowledge original sources; and
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
Editorial Actions
If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified during the editorial or publication process, the Editorial Board may take one or more of the following actions:
- Request the author(s) to revise the manuscript;
- Reject the manuscript;
- Withdraw the Letter of Acceptance (LoA), if it has not yet been issued;
- Retract the published article if plagiarism is identified after publication; and/or
- Notify the authors' affiliated institution in cases of serious ethical misconduct.
Authors' Responsibility
By submitting a manuscript to Agribusiness Journal, the author(s) declare that:
- The manuscript is their original work;
- The manuscript has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal;
- All sources of information have been appropriately cited and referenced; and
- Any copyrighted materials included in the manuscript have been used with the necessary permission, where applicable.
Agribusiness Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, credibility, and quality of scholarly publishing by adhering to standards of publication ethics.
