This statement outlines the ethical standards that must be upheld by all parties involved in the publication process of this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. It is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

1. Editor Responsibilities

  • Publication Decisions:
Editors are responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the field.
  • Fairness and Objectivity:
Manuscripts are evaluated objectively, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, religion, nationality, or political views.
  • Confidentiality:
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.
  • Conflicts of Interest:
Editors must not use any unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal advantage without the author’s explicit written consent.

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions:
Peer review assists editors in making publication decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their work.
  • Competence and Timeliness:
Reviewers who feel unqualified to assess a manuscript or are unable to complete a review on time must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
  • Confidentiality:
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential and must not be shared or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
  • Objectivity:
Reviews must be conducted objectively, and criticism should be constructive, not personal.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources:
Reviewers must identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and alert the editor to any potential plagiarism or substantial similarity to other published work.
