Plagiarism Policy

Paradigma: Jurnal Kalam dan Filsafat upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism.

Plagiarism is defined as presenting someone else's work—ideas, data, or words—as your own, without proper acknowledgment. This includes:

  1. Copying text (four or more consecutive words) from any source without quotation marks and citation;
  2. Paraphrasing or rephrasing ideas from another source without citing the original author;
  3. Using data, facts, or statistics that are not common knowledge without referencing the source;
  4. Submitting previously published work (self-plagiarism) without disclosure.

Citation Requirements

  • If the information is specific (e.g., names, dates, figures, methodologies), a citation is required.
  • If the information is common knowledge (e.g., widely known facts found in multiple general sources), no citation is necessary.
  • If you use the exact wording of a source, you must use quotation marks and cite the source.
  • If you paraphrase an idea, even with your own words, you still must cite the original source.

Similarity Tolerance

Submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using reliable detection software. The journal tolerates a similarity index of up to 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned for revision or rejected.

Editorial Action

The editorial board reserves the right to:

  • Reject or withdraw a manuscript at any stage if plagiarism is detected;
  • Notify the author’s institution if serious misconduct is found;
  • Ban authors from future submissions if repeated violations occur.
