History and Development of the Jurnal Ilmu Sosial Indonesia (JISI)

Since its first publication in 2020, the Jurnal Ilmu Sosial Indonesia (JISI) has evolved into a reputable academic publication consistently presenting high-quality research in the field of social sciences. Committed to maintaining high academic standards, JISI has continuously adapted to the needs of the academic community, experiencing significant growth over the past five years.

2020–2023: A Stable Foundation

During its first four years, JISI published approximately 10 articles per year, reflecting a consistent publishing pattern. With a biannual publication system, the journal provided a platform for scientific research that underwent a rigorous selection process and thorough academic editing.

2024: A Significant Increase in Publications

The year 2024 marked a turning point for JISI. The number of published articles doubled, reaching 20 articles in a single year. This surge indicated an increase in publication frequency and growing interest among academics in publishing their research through JISI.

2025 and Beyond: A Transformation to Four Issues Per Year

Entering 2025, JISI took a major step by increasing its publication frequency to four issues per year, covering the periods:

  1. January–March
  2. April–June
  3. July–September
  4. October–December

Each issue is set to include at least 10 articles, meaning the annual publication volume is expected to increase significantly compared to previous years. This initiative aims to provide more opportunities for academics to share their research findings and expand the journal’s impact in the field of social sciences.

With this growth, JISI remains committed to being a leading platform for scientific publications in social sciences, presenting research that is not only academically relevant but also contributes to policy development and social understanding in Indonesia and beyond.
