Students' Perceptions of The Sociology Learning Process from Various Variables

Changes in learning in the new normal era have changed the implementation of learning in schools, including in the subject of Sociology. Learning process in the new normal era for High School needs for learning design intervention to keep learning process optimal so it will not cause a learning loss. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the Sociology learning process in the New Normal Era from various variables (gender, age, class, school location, school status, and type of learning) in Senior High School. The research uses a survey type quantitative approach. The population in this study were all public and private senior high school students in Sukabumi regency. The sampling technique was quota sampling with a sample of 472. The learning process data was collected using a questionnaire with the help of by google form that had met the research requirements. All data were analyzed quantitatively using non-parametric comparative analysis. The analysis in this study was assisted by R program version 4.1.1. The results showed that there were no differences in perceptions about the Sociology learning process in the new normal era from various variables (gender p-value 0.078; age p-value 0.406; class p-value 0.718; school location p-value 0.439; school status p-value 0.313); while the type of learning p-value 0.014 states there is a difference with a significance of 5%. Therefore, that the learning process in the new normal era must still consider demographic characteristics in the design of learning, implementation of strategies and strengthening motivation.
