Pengaruh kecerdasan emosi dan coping stress terhadap psychological distress pada remaja

Abstract


Masa remaja dihadapkan dengan kebingungan, frustrasi, dan emosional. Pada usia ini, remaja dituntut untuk memenuhi peran sosial dengan teman sebaya dan lawan jenis, keharusan memayuhi aturan pendidikan dan membuat keputusan. Oleh karena itu, masa remaja rentan terhadap tekanan psikologis. Kondisi ini mempengaruhi masalah ketidakstabilan ketidaknyamanan emosional, kognisi, perilaku, dan perasaan individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kecerdasan emosi dan mengatasi stres dengan tekanan psikologis di kalangan remaja. Penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 108 Jakarta. Sebanyak sampel dari 292 orang yang merupakan siswa dari kelas VII. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan skala Kessler 10 (K-10) untuk mengukur tekanan psikologis, Trait Meta-mood Skala (TMMS) untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional, dan Responses to Stress Angket (RSQ) untuk mengukur coping stres pada remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan emosional (attention to feeling, clarity in discrimination of feeling, mood repair) dan coping stress (primary control engagement, secondary control engagement, disengagement coping, involuntary engagement, involuntary engagement) terhadap psychological distress. Berdasarkan hasil uji signifikansi, hanya dua dimensi yang mempengaruhi DV yaitu kejelasan dan keterlibatan sukarela.
