AI Policy
Al-Kauniyah: Jurnal Biologi recognizes the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in supporting research and scientific publishing. Therefore, the use of AI in manuscript preparation must be responsible, transparent, and consistent with the principles of academic integrity and scientific publication ethics, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Limitations on AI Use
The use of AI in manuscript preparation is limited to a maximum of 40%. AI may only be used as an assisting tool, such as for improving grammar and translating text, and must not replace the author's intellectual contribution. Authors are required to verify the accuracy of all information, data, and references used and remain fully responsible for the entire content of their manuscripts. Any use of AI in manuscript preparation must be transparently disclosed.
- Manuscript Confidentiality
Authors are prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts, either in whole or in part, to external AI applications or platforms. This prohibition aims to protect manuscript confidentiality, research data, and authors' intellectual property rights. Editors and peer reviewers are also prohibited from uploading manuscripts under review to external AI applications to maintain the confidentiality of the editorial and peer-review processes.
- Policy Violations
Authors are responsible for any use of AI that violates publication ethics, intellectual property rights, or applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia. If a potential violation is identified, Al-Kauniyah reserves the right to request clarification or revisions, or to reject the manuscript, depending on the severity of the violation. For articles that have already been published, the journal may issue a correction or retract the article in accordance with applicable publication ethics procedures.
