Model Materi Ajar Membaca Bahasa Mandarin Berbasis Bahan Otentik

Abstract
The objective of this research is developing a model of Chinese language reading material based on authentic materials. This research was conducted at Chinese Language Program, BSI Foreign Language Academy. The method used in this research is the researh and development (R and D) which was initiated by Jolly and Bolitho. The steps were: 1) need identification, 2) exploration of need, 3) model analysis, 4) pre-development analysis, 5) production of material, 6) student use of learning material, and 7) evaluation of learning material. The research findings are as follows: (1) documents observation and needs analysis saw the exist models was not attractive and the syllabus already contains a good topics for students but not good enough for the teachers, the needs analysis also shows the need for authentic material given in the chinese language learning; (2) the exist model of materials have not provided an authentic material; (3) the design of material model according to the leraning needs is adopted authentic material from newspaper and brochure that could create model of material that focus on reading skill; (4) the expert judgement show that the model of Chinese reading learning material developed appropriate to be used; (5) the result of the implementation of the model shows that the students have good perception on the model; (6) the Chinese reading learning material model based on authentic material developed is effective to raise students’ competence in learning Chinese language.

Abstrak
Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan sebuah model materi ajar membaca bahasa Mandarin yang berbasis pada bahan otentik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di program studi Bahasa Cina ABA BSI Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development/ R&D) yang dikemukakan oleh Jolly dan Bolitho. Langkah-langkahnya: (1) identifikasi kebutuhan, (2) eksplorasi kebutuhan, (3) analisis model, (4) analisis pra-pengembangan, (5) produksi materi ajar, (6) uji materi ajar, dan (7) evaluasi materi ajar. Hasil dari penelitian ini: (1) hasil analisis dokumen dan analisis kebutuhan didapatkan bahwa materi ajar yang digunakan belum memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa dan topik-topik dalam silabus sudah baik menurut mahasiswa, tetapi kurang menarik menurut dosen, pemberian bahan otentik sangat diperlukan dalam pembelajaran; (2) model materi ajar yang ada belum memberikan contoh bahan otentik; (3) desain model materi ajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran diadopsi dari bahan otentik bersumber dari surat kabar dan brosur yang dikreasikan menjadi model materi ajar fokus pada keterampilan membaca; (4) penilaian ahli menunjukkan bahwa model materi ajar yang dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan; (5) hasil uji coba materi ajar menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki persepsi yang baik mengenai model materi ajar; (6) model materi ajar membaca bahasa Mandarin berbasis bahan otentik yang dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin.
