Focus and Scope

Buletin Al-Turas (ISSN Print: 0853-1692 E-ISSN: 2579-5848) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal published by Fakultas Adab and Humaniora, Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. 


FOCUS

The primary goal of Buletin Al-Turas is to provide readers with a better understanding of Humanities studies through the publication of current academic articles.

 

SCOPE

Buletin Al-Turas specializes in Humanities studies including history, literature, applied linguistics, cultures, and library sciences written in English, Arabic, or Indonesian language, and is intended to communicate original researches and current issues on the subject. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars of related disciplines.

Peer Review Process

The publication of Buletin Al-Turas is dedicated to preserving the transmission of knowledge and protecting cultural heritage. All manuscripts subject to a double-blind review process to maintain a high scholarly level. In the double-blind review process, neither reviewers nor authors know the identity of each other. This enables an unbiased and accurate review of the manuscript. In all cases, the reviewers will be asked to declare any conflict of interest based on the contents of the manuscript.
After a manuscript is submitted, a section editor of the Editorial Board reviews it; and checks its similarity with other published works. If the manuscript passes the editorial review and plagiarism check, it is sent to reviewers for double-blind peer review. If the reviewers accept the offer to review the manuscript, they can download the complete manuscript and a Manuscript Review Form. In all cases, the reviewers will be asked to declare any conflict of interest based on the contents of the manuscript. If a conflict of interest exists, the reviewers are requested to decline to review the manuscript. The reviewers should provide an objective critical assessment of the manuscript about the concept of the study, relevance in relation to current scientific knowledge, scientific content, language, and grammar. They also are asked to make a recommendation for publishing the manuscript. Please provide reasons for your recommendations.
If the reviewers believe that the manuscript needs changes for improvement before it is accepted for publication, they should make the suggestions on how to improve it. If the comments are negative they must help the authors improve their manuscript by explaining weaknesses in scientific content or language. Any offensive language in the comments cannot be tolerated. Based on the reviewer's comments the editorial board will make a decision about the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. The editors may decide to accept the manuscript without revisions; invite authors to resubmit the manuscript after minor or major revisions while the final decision is kept pending, or reject the manuscript.

Publication Frequency

Buletin Al-Turas is published twice a year in March and September.

Open Access Policy

Buletin Al-Turas provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

Buletin Al-Turas utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. The system used to file the journal in an archive permanently and safely is LOCKSS software in which LOCKSS is an open-source software developed in the Library of Stanford University that enables the library to keep the chosen journal website by collecting backup data regularly from the registered journal website for the contents that have just been published and filed.
