KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DAN SAINS TEKNOLOGI MASYARAKAT PADA KONSEP VIRUS

Abstract


Abstract

Graduation standard of Indonesia senior high school hopes the students show their logical, crithical, creative, and inovative thinking skill in making decision. The study aimed to find out difference of crithical thinking between students taught with Problem Based Learning (PBL) method and Society Technology Science (STM) in the concept of virus. The subject are 64 students grade X of SMAN 11 South Tangerang City. Method used was quasy experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Sample were taken by simple random technique sampling. Instruments used was free analysis essay test. The result of postest percentage in both of class shows that (PBL) is better in giving the simple explanation and constructing the basic skill aspect, while STM model is better in giving further explaination aspect. In addition, the posttetest result was analyzed by t-test. The result gained was t-count is 2,79 and t-table with the significant of 5% is 1,99. It shows that there is a difference in in chritical thinking between students taught with PBL method and STM in the concept of virus.

Abstrak

Standar kelulusan SMA di Indonesia mengharapkan seorang siswa menunjukan kemampuan berpikir logis, kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif dalam pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Sains Teknologi Masyarakat pada konsep Virus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMA Negeri 11 Kota Tangerang Selatan kelas X yang berjumlah 64 siswa. Tipe Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan diberikan instrumen berupa tes essay uraian bebas sebagai pengumpul data. Hasil menunjukan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih baik pada aspek Memberikan Penjelasan Sederhana dan Membangun Keterampilan Dasar. Aspek kritis pada Menjelaskan Lebih Lanjut lebih baik di model pembelajaran Sains Teknologi Masyarakat. Analisis hasil menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan nilai t-hitung sebesar 2,79 lebih besar dari t-tabel sebesar 1,99 pada taraf signifikasi 5%. Dengan demikian keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran PBL berbeda dengan STM pada konsep Virus.
