Abstract

As of April 2023, 36 Chinese and French companies have signed 18 cooperation agreements in various fields, including one in the field of renewable energy. This immediately attracted attention from several countries and some parties who focus on moving in the field of renewable and sustainable energy considering that China and France are 2 of several countries that have great strength in the International System today. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the diversification strategy of energy sources carried out by China and France in response to climate change is current. The research method used in this research is a qualitative library research method with energy security theory as an analysis tool. The results show that cooperation between China and France in shaping energy diversification strategies has reaped successes such as the construction of solar power plants in Africa and wind power plants in China. However, technological and regulatory challenges and obstacles still need to be found solutions. Proper diversification of the energy portfolio, along with improved energy efficiency, will be an important step in achieving the global goal of reducing carbon emissions and fighting climate change.
