Author Guidelines

SALAM: Jurnal sosial dan budaya syar'i, published three times a year since 2014, is a bilingual (Bahasa Indonesia and English), peer-reviewed journal, and specializes in social science and sharia culture studies. All submitted papers are subject to double-blind review process.The aim is to provide readers with a better understanding of social science and present developments through the publication of articles, research reports, and book reviews.

The journal invites scholars and experts working in all disciplines in the social and sharia culture studies. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review of the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review.

Articles should be written in Bahasa or English or Arabic between approximately 5000-7000 words including text, all tables and figures, notes, references, and appendices intended for publication. All submission must include 150-200 words abstract and 5 keywords. Quotations, passages, and words in local or foreign languages should be translated into Bahasa. Arabiyat accepts only electronic submissions. All manuscripts should be sent in word to: jurnal.salam@uinjkt.ac.id or register on our site.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
