Identitas ‘Kota Santri’ Kabupaten Gresik melalui Tari Si’ar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the aesthetic form of the Si'ar Dance movement which is a representation of Gresik Regency as ‘Kota Santri’. Furthermore, this study tries to embody the form of dance movements that symbolize the religious movement, especially the obligation to carry out Islamic prayer. This study uses a qualitative approach that combines textual and contextual approaches. The textuality of the Si'ar Dance is examined concerning the form of motion, structure, and style of the dance, while the contextuality of the Si'ar Dance is studied as a form of religious art identity from the Gesik Regency. The research data is presented descriptively about the identity that exists in the Si'ar Dance through clothes, movements, and historicity of the City of Santri. The results of the study show that the Si'ar Dance in its observations involves elements in the underlying explanation of the concept of the Si'ar Dance between others are ‘wiraga’, ‘wirama’, ‘wirasa’. The explanation of the practice of ‘wiraga’, ‘wirama’, ‘wirasa’ dancing is understood by the imitative movement of the prayer movement. The form and structure of the Si'ar Dance refers to the dance structure in which the techniques and ways of moving in the body parts of the dancer become a form of the dance manifestation as a whole in the regional identity of the Gresik Regency as the City of Santri as evidenced by the opinion of the Si'ar Dance audience.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk estetis gerak tari Si’ar yang merupakan representasi Kabupaten Gresik sebagai Kota Santri. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini mencoba mengejawantahkan bentuk gerakan tarian yang melambangkan gerakan religius terutama kewajiban menjalankan rukun Islam yang kedua yaitu salat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang menggabungkan antara pendekatan tekstual dan kontekstual. Tekstualitas tentang Tari Si’ar dikaji berkaitan dengan bentuk gerak, struktur dan gaya tariannya, sedangkan kontekstualitas Tari Si’ar dikaji sebagai bentuk identitas kesenian religi dari Kabupaten Gesik. Data penelitian disajikan secara deskriptif tentang identitas yang ada dalam Tari Si’ar melalui pakaian, gerakan, dan historisitas dari Kota Santri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Si’ar pada pencermatannya melibatkan unsur-unsur  pada penjelasan yang mendasari tentang konsep Tari Si’ar antara lain wiraga, wirama, wirasa. Penjelasan  tentang  pelakasanaan dalam menari wiraga, wirama, wirasa, dipahamkan dengan gerakan imitatif dari gerakan orang salat. Bentuk dan struktur Tari Si’ar mengacu pada struktur tari di mana teknik dan cara bergerak dalam bagian tubuh penari menjadi bentuk perujudan tarian secara utuh dalam identitas daerah Kabupaten Gresik sebagai Kota Santri yang dibuktikan dengan pendapat masyarakat penikmat Tari Si’ar.
