Focus and Scope
The Avicenna Medical Journal (AMEDJ) is the official journal of the Faculty of Medicine, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, AMEDJ presents multidisciplinary scientific papers describing innovative research covering the entire spectrum of medical aspects, both basic science and clinical aspects. It directs scientists and researchers to publish new research that is mechanism-based, hypothesis-driven, and focused on significant issues including:
1. Basic research and biomedical approaches to disease
2. Clinical studies
3. Social and other aspects in an integrated focus on solving medical problems
4. Islamic medical research
5. Medical education research
6. Genetic and biomolecular research
Research can involve an in vitro or in vivo or in silico approach. Accepted manuscripts can be in the form of original/research articles, review articles, or case reports.
The Avicenna Medical Journal had changed the manuscript template since volume 2 number 2 year 2021, to improve the quality of journal.
Appearing twice a year under peer review, The Avicenna Medical Journal is expected to actively participate in solving medical problems and related aspects.
Future plans
The Avicenna Medical Journal will focus on the publication of research on the development of medical research and related topics, become a forum for researchers in the medical field, and can become a reference so that it is expected to help solve medical research problems. In addition, The Avicenna Medical Journal is expected to attract the attention of the global medical community which will further support it to be indexed globally.

Peer Review Process
The Avicenna Medical Journal, published two times a year since 2020. Articles should be written in English, peer-reviewed journal, and specializes on medicine. All submitted papers are subject to double-blind review process. The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed by at least 2 (two) reviewers. Once a manuscript is submitted by an author through the online submission process, a journal editor screens the manuscript and decides whether or not to send it for full peer review. Only after clearing the initial screening is the manuscript sent to one or more peer reviewers. Finally, journal editors or the journals editorial board consider the peer reviewers reports and make the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript for publication. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal peer-reviewing process. The Avicenna Medical Journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
