Editorial Procedures and Peer-Review Process

Refleksi: Jurnal Kajian Agama dan Filsafat, applies a double-blind peer-review system for all submitted manuscripts.

Both research and non-research articles are eligible for submission. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's topic. The double-blind process ensures that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review, in order to maintain objectivity and academic integrity.

Upon submission via the online system, all manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening to assess their relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal's formatting standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage are forwarded to peer reviewers.

The peer-review process typically takes up to six (6) weeks, depending on the availability and responsiveness of reviewers. During this time, reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on scholarly contribution, methodological soundness, clarity of argument, and relevance to the field.

After receiving the peer-review reports, the Editorial Board makes a final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept Submission

  • Revisions Required (minor revisions, usually due within 1 week)

  • Resubmit for Review (major revisions, typically with a 2–3 week revision period)

  • Decline Submission

Authors will receive reviewer feedback and a decision letter outlining the next steps. The journal encourages authors to respond thoroughly to all reviewer comments if revision is requested.
