Author Guidelines

Journal of Social Philanthropy and Management (JSPM) Author Guidelines (APA 7th Edition)

1. Manuscript Structure


Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the following structure:
1. Title (max. 15 words)
2. Author(s) name, affiliation, email, and ORCID
3. Abstract (150–250 words) with 3–5 keywords
4. Introduction
5. Literature Review
6. Methodology
7. Results
8. Discussion
9. Conclusion
10. References (APA 7th Edition)

2. Formatting


- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Length: 5,000–8,000 words including references
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Headings: Use APA 7th heading levels

3. In-text Citations and References


In-text citations and reference lists must follow APA 7th edition guidelines.

Example (in-text):
- (Smith, 2022) or Smith (2022) states that...

Example (reference list):
- Smith, J. (2022). Sociology in the digital age. Journal of Sociological Studies, 10(2), 123–135. https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxx

4. Submission Checklist


Before submitting, ensure that:
- The manuscript follows the journal template.
- All authors are listed with correct affiliations and ORCID IDs.
- The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism (similarity < 20%).
- References are in APA 7th edition.
- The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

5. Copyright


Authors retain copyright and grant Sociolens the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
