Muhammad Sofyan Kadhafi

Abstract

In recent years, the growth of social media has changed political campaigns significantly. This abstract discusses the role of social media in political campaigns, the problems, and their impact in the social media era. Social media enables candidates and politicians to communicate directly with voters through a broad and easily accessible platform. They can interact with voters in real-time and convey their political message. Social media also provides public support to politicians and builds a strong fan base. Both candidates and politicians must realize the importance of creating ethical and intelligent campaign strategies in today's social media era. They must understand the dynamics of social media, understand current challenges, and communicate with transparency and integrity. Governments and social media platforms should also support strong laws on political campaigning to prevent the spread of fake news, misuse of personal data and cyberattacks.
