KONSUMSI BERITA ONLINE DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN PARTISIPASI POLITIK
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of online news consumption on knowledge and political participation. This research was conducted using the online method for respondents who are very active in using the internet and have access to online news. Online news consumption has a significant positive effect on political science but does not have a significant effect on political participation. It can be seen that news consumption can increase understanding of circulating political issues, this will not necessarily encourage someone to be more active in politics. The content of this research is the importance of the role of the media in providing appropriate and highly useful information to help improve the quality of the public on political issues. However, only one factor influences individual political participation, so other solutions are needed, such as community empowerment so that they feel motivated in the political process.
