Peningkatan Perilaku Sabar Anak Usia Dini melalui Kegiatan Kolase pada Anak Kelompok B di RA Al Rasyid

Abstract

This study was prompted by the insufficient development of patience among Group B children at RA Al Rasyid during learning activities that required persistence, accuracy, and task completion. The study aimed to describe the implementation of collage activities and measure the improvement in children’s patience after the instructional intervention. A collaborative classroom action research design based on Hopkins’ model was employed in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection and was conducted in two meetings. The participants were 12 Group B children. Data were collected through structured observation and documentation. Patience was assessed through three indicators: persistence in attaching collage materials, patience in arranging materials on a pattern, and the ability to complete the task. Quantitative and qualitative descriptive analyses were used, and the intervention was considered successful when at least 75% of the children reached the Expected Development category. The results showed that the proportion of children in this category increased from 25.00% in the pre-cycle stage to 58.33% in Cycle I and 83.33% in Cycle II. Meanwhile, the Undeveloped category decreased from 50.00% to 16.67% and finally to 0%. Improvements in Cycle II—including step-by-step modeling, displaying a finished sample, varying collage materials, rearranging seating, and providing positive reinforcement—helped the children remain focused, work persistently, arrange materials more neatly, and complete their tasks. These findings indicate that collage activities can be an effective classroom strategy for strengthening patience in early childhood.
