Cross-Cultural Communication of the Dalem Sakti Housing Estate Community, Sungai Tabuk District, Banjar Regency in Maintaining Harmony

Cultural differences often create problems in social life due to differences in language used. Therefore, this study aims to examine whether cross-cultural communication in the Dalem Sakti housing estate, Sungai Tabuk District, is effective or hindered by cultural differences. This study employed qualitative research, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Intercultural communication among the Dalem Sakti community can be considered effective. The communication skills of the Dalem Sakti community can be considered excellent, as they are able to minimize existing barriers. One of the competencies possessed by the Dalem Sakti community is a very high level of tolerance. Furthermore, the Dalem Sakti community utilizes language as a tool to maintain interpersonal relationships in effective communication. The community uses specific languages or codes in their daily lives to communicate with each other. For example, the community strives to adopt the Banjar language as their everyday language, despite being of Bugis and Javanese ethnicity.
