Sistem Informasi, Fenomena Teknis atau Budaya?

Abstract

After a long period (approximately 20 years), the science of information system was finally admitted. But the research related to information system science is still insufficient for the information system experts. The paper was made to explore the possibility of information system science seen from philosophic perspective when it practiced in the corporations that adopt it. The main problem of information system development in a corporation is not in line with the change of information system infrastructure with the corporation culture that covers it. So it seems the appearance of an information system is not enough to make the efficient use of all the resources for the corporation
importance. The research was based on the data of several corporations that have section/division/department of
information technology/information system. Even though those corporations could not represent the entire corporation in Indonesia, but at least it could show to us the main problem which is often happened in information
technology/information system processing that exists.
