PEREMPUAN, TAFSIR, DAN KEADILAN GENDER: STUDI KRITIS HERMENEUTIKA DALAM TRADISI KEILMUAN ISLAM
Abstract
Abstract. This paper aims to examine gender relations in Islam by analyzing Qur’anic verses and prophetic traditions frequently used as the basis for gender norms, such as QS An-Nisa’ [4]:34 and QS al-Ahzab [33]:33, and comparing them with verses that emphasize reciprocity and justice. Using a historical-ethical hermeneutic approach, the study examines how socio-cultural contexts and interpretive methods influence the meanings of religious texts. The findings reveal that patriarchal norms often influence classical interpretations, while contemporary scholars, such as Amina Wadud and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, advocate for more just and contextual readings. The discussion highlights that, in its essence, Islam promotes principles of equality and justice, allowing for ijtihad in interpreting texts. The study concludes that reinterpreting religious texts through the lens of tawhid, justice, and maqasid al-shari‘ah is essential in fostering an ethical, inclusive, and human-centered understanding of women in Islam.
Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji relasi gender dalam Islam melalui analisis ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dan hadis yang sering dijadikan dasar norma gender, seperti QS An-Nisa’ [4]:34 dan QS al-Ahzab [33]:33, serta membandingkannya dengan ayat-ayat yang menekankan kesalingan dan keadilan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan hermeneutika historis dan etis untuk mengungkap bagaimana konteks sosial dan metode penafsiran memengaruhi pemaknaan terhadap teks keagamaan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa tafsir klasik banyak dipengaruhi oleh budaya patriarkal, sementara penafsiran kontemporer oleh tokoh seperti Amina Wadud dan Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd menawarkan pendekatan yang lebih adil dan kontekstual. Pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa Islam secara prinsip mengajarkan kesetaraan dan keadilan, serta membuka ruang ijtihad terhadap teks. Kesimpulannya, reinterpretasi teks keagamaan yang berlandaskan pada prinsip tauhid, keadilan, dan maqasid al-shari‘ah sangat penting dalam membangun pemahaman yang etis, inklusif, dan manusiawi terhadap perempuan dalam Islam.
