I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Focus and Scope: Submitted manuscripts must be original scholarly works, critical ideas, or research findings in the fields of library science, archival studies, and information management. Topics accepted include, but are not limited to:

    • Librarianship and Library Studies

    • Islamic Librarianship

    • Digital Humanities Librarianship

    • Digital Libraries and Repositories

    • Information and Digital Literacy

    • Information Behaviour

    • ICT in Library and Information Management

    • Knowledge Management

    • Librarians and Other Information Workers

    • Bibliometrics and Infometrics

    • Archives Management

    • Museum and Related Fields of Study

  2. Originality: The manuscript must be original, has not been published previously in any other media, and is not currently under consideration/review by another journal.

  3. Language: Articles must be written in proper, academic English or Indonesian.

  4. File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission portal.

II. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE & LAYOUT

Manuscripts should typically range between 4,000 to 7,000 words (including tables and references) and must strictly follow the standard IMRaD structure:

  1. Title: Maximum of 15 words, concise, informative, and precisely reflecting the content of the article. Written in both English and Indonesian.

  2. Author Information: Full name(s) of the author(s) without academic titles, institutional affiliation(s), institutional address, and the email of the Corresponding Author.

  3. Abstract: A single-paragraph abstract (150–250 words) written in both English and Indonesian. It must comprehensively cover the background, research objectives, methodology, main findings, and core conclusions.

  4. Keywords: 3–5 specific words or phrases, separated by commas (,), crucial for indexing purposes.

  5. Introduction: State the background of the study, the urgency of the topic, a rigorous literature review (state-of-the-art) to highlight the research gap, and clearly conclude with the objectives of the study.

  6. Methods: Detail the research design, participants/objects, data collection techniques, instruments, and data analysis procedures to ensure the study can be fully replicated by other researchers.

  7. Results and Discussion:

    • Results: Present the research findings objectively, supplemented by well-structured tables or figures if necessary.

    • Discussion: Interpret the findings deeply, correlate them with existing theories or prior studies, and highlight the scientific contribution of the work.

  8. Conclusion: Summarize the main findings, state the theoretical and practical implications, acknowledge the limitations of the study, and offer recommendations for future research.

  9. Acknowledgments (Optional): Mention any funding agencies (funder) or individuals who provided significant non-authorial support to the research.

III. FORMATTING & STYLE GUIDELINES (For Professional Consistency)

  • Paper Size: A4 with standard 3 cm margins on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).

  • Typography: Times New Roman (or alternative standard fonts provided in the official Article Template).

    • Title: 14pt, Bold

    • Headings/Sub-headings: 12pt, Bold

    • Main Text: 12pt, Regular, line spacing of 1.15 or 1.5, Justified.

  • Tables and Figures: Must be sequentially numbered and titled. Table titles are placed above the table, while figure titles are placed below the figure. Sources must be cited if the data is adapted from elsewhere.

IV. CITATIONS AND REFERENCES

  1. Citation Style: LIJ strictly enforces the use of APA Style (American Psychological Association) for both in-text citations and the reference list.

    • In-text citation example: (Marleni et al., 2025) or Saputra (2025).

  2. Reference Management: Authors are strongly required to use a reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure formatting accuracy.

  3. Reference Requirements: A minimum of 15 references is expected. At least 80% of the total references must come from primary sources (peer-reviewed scientific journals or conference proceedings) published within the last 5–10 years.

  4. Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Authors must include active DOI URLs at the end of each reference list entry whenever available.
