FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Journal of Politics and Islamic Society focuses on a broad spectrum of research in the fields of democracy, governance, political thought, contemporary politics, ethics, and discourses on justice. It welcomes scholarly works that explore the theoretical foundations of political philosophy, democratic theory, governance systems, and justice discourses, alongside studies examining practical aspects such as democratic governance implementation, electoral processes, and current issues in both national and global politics. In addition, the journal provides a dedicated platform for research on Islamic society, particularly in the Indonesian context, encompassing topics such as Islamic political movements, the relationship between religion and state, socio-political transformations in Muslim communities, and the role of Islamic values in shaping public policy and civic life. 

JPIS welcomes both theoretical and empirical contributions in the following fields: 1) Political theories and ideologies in Indonesian Muslim contexts, 2) Islam, democracy, and governance in Indonesia, 3) Political behavior, participation, and social movements in Indonesian Muslim societies, 4) Comparative politics of Indonesian Muslim societies, 5) Religion, identity, and socio-political change in Indonesia.
