LITERASI INFORMASI DAN KEMAMPUAN SOSIAL-EMOTIONAL DALAM MEMPENGARUHI KEMAMPUAN MENGINDENTIFIKASI INFORMASI SALAH
Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi membuat masyarakat sangat bergantung pada internet dan juga media sosial yang biasanya diakses pada teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (smartphone, laptop, computer, smart tv, dan lainnya). Media sosial memiliki karakteristik yang memungkinkan penggunanya untuk menggungah konten sendiri. Karakteristik tersebut ternyata menimbulkan fenomena baru dimana pengguna internet lebih mudah terpapar dan menyebarkan misinformation atau informasi yang salah. Fenomena tersebut kemudian menuntut pentingnya kemampuan seseorang sebagai pengguna internet untuk dapat mengidentifikasi apakah sebuah informasi itu benar atau salah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur socio-emotional skill dan information skill sebagai kemampuan yang dianggap berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan mengidentifikasi informasi salah. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Kemudian sampel dipenelitian ini diambil menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan cluster random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 103 responden. Pengambilan data penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei untuk mengambil data primer seperti karakteristik responden, kemampuan mengidentifikasi misinformation, socio-emotional skill, dan information skill. Pengambilan data dimulai 14 Juni – 17 Juli 2024. Analisis data yang dilakukan meliputi uji hipotesis menggunakan uji regresi linier berganda. Hasil menunjukkan sebagian besar variabel bebas yang diukur pada penelitian ini berkontribusi besar dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan mengidentifikasi misinformasi yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai R-square sebesar 0,426. Dimensi information skill berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kemampuan mengidentifikasi informasi. Namun dimensi socio-emotional skill tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan mengidentifikasi misinformasi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan H1 diterima dan H2 ditolak.
