Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to (1) Explore the understanding and meaning of the concept of gender justice in Acehnese society, (2) Analyzing the influence of open-mindedness on the understanding of gender equality concepts among acehnese adolescents in Bireuen District.This study employs a mixed-method approach using an exploratory sequential mixed method design (qualitative–quantitative). The research began with the Delphi method to explore the concept of gender equity in Acehnese society, conducted from October 2025 to December 2025. A total of six experts participated in the study, all of whom have concerns related to gender issues, including a traditional Acehnese leader, a religious leader, a community leader, a legal/social practitioner, an academic, and a women’s rights activist. After completing the Delphi phase, the study proceeded to the quantitative stage, which was conducted from January to March 2026. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan formula and stratified random sampling technique, resulting in 132 respondents from a population of 200 students. The research instruments included the Gender Equity Scale (SAG) with a reliability of 0.716–0.769 and the open-mindedness scale with a reliability of 0.702–0.716. This study is expected to contribute to the development of education and policies that support gender equality among adolescents.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mengeksplorasi pemahaman dan pemaknaan konsep adil gender dalam masyarakat Aceh, (2) Menganalisis pengaruh open-mindedness terhadap pemahaman konsep adil gender pada remaja aceh di Kabupaten Bireuen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran (mixed method) dengan exploratory sequential mixed method design (qualitative–quantitative). Penelitian diawali menggunakan metode Delphi untuk mengeksplorasi konsep adil gender pada masyarakat Aceh yang dilaksanakan pada Oktober 2025 hingga Desember 2025. Ahli yang terlibat sejumlah 6 orang yang memiliki kepedulian terhadap isu gender, terdiri dari tokoh adat Aceh, tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat, praktisi hukum/sosial, akademisi, dan aktivis perempuan. Setelah selesai metode Delphi, penelitian dilanjutkan ke tahap kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan Maret 2026. Metode penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus dari Krejcie & Morgan dan sesuai ketentuan stratified random sampling, sehingga dengan populasi sejumlah 200 siswa, maka jumlah sampel sebanyak 132 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala adil gender (SAG) dengan reliabilitas 0,716–0,769 dan skala open-mindedness yang memiliki reliabilitas 0,702–0,716. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi sederhana. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa open-mindedness merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam membentuk pemahaman konsep adil gender pada remaja.
