Insaniyat: Journal of Islam and Humanities is an academic, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, Indonesia. It encourages research in visual and media culture in Muslim society as interdisciplinary studies. Visual culture involves (but not limited to) film, news, photography, calligraphy, meme, cartoon strips, posters, and caricatures; then, media culture highlights the research on social media platforms which bring the issues of Islam. The Journal supports critically informed, original interpretations that both illuminate a specific phenomenon across a range of disciplines, including history, film studies, literature, anthropology and museology, as well as regional and cultural studies, in order to take account of the visuality of their objects of study. The journal is published twice a year (May and November).

Insaniyat : Journal of Islam and Humanities is nationally accredited with SINTA 2 by Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Jakarta, Indonesia. Number 30/E/KPT/2019 about Grade of Accredited Scientific Journal in 11^th November, 2019.

Insaniyat : Journal of Islam and Humanities is collaborated with Asosiasi Dosen Ilmu-Ilmu Adab (ADIA). This Association consists of all Adab and Humanities Faculties of Universitas Islam Negeri in Indonesia.This collaboration is highly important to develop and enrich scientific discussion related to the study of Islam and Humanities.
