Author Guidelines

 

1.     Submission

  • The submitted manuscript is proceed totally online and should be addressed to portal: http://journal.uinjkt.ac.id/index.php/algoritma
  • If there is a problem when sending online, the author can contact the AJME Journal Editor at the email address: ajme.journal@uinjkt.ac.id
  • Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in Indonesian, English or in any other language.
  • The result of the similarity check of the manuscript is not exceeded 30%. Authors are expected to attach the similarity check results.

2.    Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts are prepared according to the following writing guide template: [download here]. 
  • Manuscript must be written in Indonesian or English. Manuscript consist of 8.000-10.000 words including figures and tables, written on A4 size paper, 1,5 spaced, using Garamond, font size 12, with margin of 2 cm, except of the left with margin of 2 cm.

The article is written in a systematic as follows.

  • Title page: title of the article (14pt, bold, UPPERCASE); full names of authors (without academic titles); authors’ affiliations [name(s) of department(s) and institution(s)]; corresponding author’s name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address (institution specific address and e-mail address of the corresponding author will be published along with the article). Authorship of articles should be limited to those who have contributed sufficiently to take public responsibility for the contents. Authors and their affiliation should be listed beneath the title on the opening of the manuscript.
  • Abstract: The abstract should be relevant, brief, descriptive, clear, and consistant. This abstract should provide a brief introduction to the problem, purpose of paper, followed by the method and a brief summary of results. The abstract should end with a brief conclusion. Abstracts are written in 11pt Garamond, italic, preferably between 150-200 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviation or unspecified references. 
  • Keywords: provide 3-5 keywords or short phrases in alphabetical order, eg: mathematical critical thinking; problem based learning; single subject research
  • Main Text: It is recommended for the main text of the manuscript to be structured as introduction, methods, results, and discussion (IMRAD). The manuscript start with a brief introduction. In introduction, the author explains the circumstances and benefits of the work, the development of science and other research that is relevant to the object of the study. The method briefly describes the research design or the procedure, research participants, research location, data sources, instruments, and materials used. Authors must describe how data was collected and how data were analyzed. Results are the main part of the article. The author must explain the results of data analysis and the results of hypothesis. Whereas in the discussion the author should present the meaning of the data and the contribution to the field of study, make comparisons with previous research, integrate research results into existing knowledge, compose new theories, or modify existing theories. Conclusions should answer the problems or research objectives, the essence of the discussion results that contain novelty, limitations, and suggestions for further research.
  • Acknowledgements: contains gratitude to those who helped in the research colleagues, research assisting institutions, sponsors, research fund providers, proofreaders, research assistants, typists, and suppliers who may have given materials.
  • References: The main references are books, indexed national journals, international journals, and indexed proceedings. The number of references used is at least 15 and is the most relevant and recent source. References are written in APA style version 7 (please use a consistent format for references, see examples in the template). Strongly recommended to use reference manager for example Mendeley, End Note, Zotero, etc. 

3.    Manuscript Review

The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit all articles in aspects of style, format, and clarity. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts for reasons of any aspect. Manuscripts with excessive errors in any aspect may be returned to authors for retyping or may be rejected. All manuscripts will be subjected to peer and editorial review. 

4.    Manuscript Revision

If your manuscript has been reviewed and the editor invites you to submit a revised version of your manuscript, please carefully consider all editor and reviewer comments.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
