Pengaruh Literasi Digital terhadap Pengelolaan Privasi Komunikasi pada Mahasiswa

Abstract


The rapid development of technology requires its users to remain cautious and be able to process the information shared in cyberspace wisely. Therefore, didgital literacy skills are needed to manage the personal information shared and prevent problems for its users. This study aimed to discover the influence of digital literacy on the management of communication privacy of X social media users in students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. This quantitative research used the theory of CPM (Communication Privacy Management). The data in this study were collected through a questionnaire taken with purposive sampling technique on 153 samples.

Based on the analysis, there was a significant effect between digital literacy and communication privacy management in X users, who are students of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, with a significance value of 0.000. The finding of the contribution value of digital literacy to the management of communication privacy contributed by 52,6%. In conclusion, proper digital literacy skills can help students, such as X users, to manage their personal information carefully by not sharing it on social media.
