Tafsir dan Legitimasi Kekuasaan: Analisis Penafsiran Politis Bakri Syahid dalam Tafsir Al-Huda

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the interpretation that has a “political” nuance in Tafsir al-Huda by Bakri Syahid. Although the interpreted verses are not political verses, sometimes Bakri brings the explainer across the political horizon. This research uses a source of literature data, namely Tafsir al-Huda. The data obtained is described and analyzed using interpretative analysis, through the identification of themes relevant to development politics; interpreting Bakri’s interpretation; associating meaning with context; and giving theoretical meaning as a conclusion. The results of the study show that in surah al-An’am: 138, al-A’raf: 201, al-Ra’d: 20, al-Qasas: 51 and al-Thur: 6, Bakri interprets it by associating New Order Government programs, such as national development and Five-Year Development (Pelita). This finding makes his interpretation work not only become a religious book, but also accommodate political discourse with the existence of “documents” for national development planning. This research contributes to the study of al-Qur’an and Tafsir by revealing that political patterns in interpretation are not always applied to political verses. However, political patterns can appear in the interpretation of verses that do not explicitly talk about politics.
