Abstract


Communication process is difficult thing for deaf-mute person due to the limitation of his/her hearing sense. In
Indonesia, beside to communicate by their natural language, the deaf-mute person can also communicate by Dictionary of Indonesian Language Gesture System which is published byDepartment of National Education RI. This research was held due to develop electronic model of the dictionary using computer’s help. The result is an electrical dictionary that was easy to be used by deaf-mute person or public. The research was held in four months in Jakarta using observation data collecting method, interview, and literature study of System Development Live Cycle (SDLC) as the system development methodology. Its development technology using Microsoft Visio 2002 as the design simulation software, Borland Delphi 7 as programming language, Microsoft Access for database design, and Ulead Video Studio 9 to generate the visualisation.
