Urgensi Penguasaan Aplikasi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) oleh Pustakawan: Kasus di Perpustakaan Universitas Sumatera Utara
Abstract
Aplikasi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) menawarkan peluang besar bagi pustakawan untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan dan mengelola informasi secara lebih efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki urgensi penguasaan aplikasi AI oleh pustakawan di Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara semi-struktur dengan pustakawan serta studi literatur. Wawancara bertujuan untuk menggali pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pengalaman pustakawan terkait aplikasi AI, sementara studi literatur digunakan untuk mencari konsep pembanding mengenai pentingnya penguasaan AI dalam dunia perpustakaan. Temuan awal menunjukkan adanya variasi tingkat pemahaman dan keterlibatan pustakawan terhadap aplikasi AI. Beberapa pustakawan memiliki pengetahuan yang baik, sementara yang lain masih terbatas. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya investasi dalam pendidikan dan pelatihan AI bagi pustakawan untuk menutup kesenjangan pengetahuan dan meningkatkan kompetensi mereka. Peningkatan kecakapan AI oleh pustakawan di USU diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan, menyederhanakan operasional, dan memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna perpustakaan. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan dan dukungan komprehensif mengenai AI bagi pustakawan sangat diperlukan untuk memastikan efektivitas perpustakaan di era digital.
