Hubungan Keterampilan Literasi Informasi Mahasiswa Tingkat Akhir dengan Pemanfaatan Sumber Informasi Perpustakaan dalam Menyelesaikan Skripsi

Abstract


The sources of information at the Library of UMMI are represented by circulations, references, SNI Corner, Muhammadiyah Corner, reservoirs, scientific works, repositories, UMMI Digital Library, and journal services. This study focused on determining the hookup between final-year students' information literacy skills (X variable) and the availability of  information sources (Y variable) when finishing their thesis. The research method used a quantitative-descriptive approach. 47 respondents were gathered by simple random sampling. Data were collected using an enclosed questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed through Pearson Product Moment Correlation on SPSS 20. The results showed that the information literacy skills and the usage of primary, secondary, and tertiary information sources were categorized as good, with respectively scoring 241 (76%) and 3917 (80%). The tie-up amidst X along with Y is considered to be positive with the level of variable sig relationship (2-tailed): 0.00, which is aligned with the degree of relationship between X and Y at 0.500. There is a fairly positive interconnection between being good in information literacy skills and the use of collections. Advisely, the library should plan strategies to optimize student skills in defining needs and writing techniques from various sources.
