IDENTIFIKASI TREN DAN STRATEGI DIPLOMASI PUBLIK MELALUI PERPUSTAKAAN

Abstract

This research aim to identifies trends and strategies of public diplomacy through libraries. The method used in this research is bibliometrics using Dimensions AI and VOS Viewer databases with a range of years 2004 - 2022. The results showed that there were 1024 publications with the theme of public diplomacy and libraries and publication trends that fluctuate every year. This study also identified three strategies used in public diplomacy through libraries, including cooperation programs and library book grants, librarianship programs and library exchanges and visual arts exhibitions. Although there are several studies that discuss the role of libraries as a means of public diplomacy, in fact there is no research that uses the concept of library diplomacy related to this theme, so the effectiveness of public diplomacy through libraries needs to be studied more deeply. Nevertheless, libraries as an instrument of education and dissemination of national values, especially democracy, have had a positive influence on society in various countries.
