Kaburnya Pembagian Kerja dalam Praktik PALUGADA pada Pekerja Kreatif di Indonesia: Analisis Perspektif Émile Durkheim
Abstract
The PALUGADA (an Indonesian acronym for apa lu mau, gue ada, referring to the expectation that workers perform multiple job functions beyond their primary specialization) phenomenon is increasingly common in creative sector work practices in Indonesia, a situation where workers are required to master and carry out various job functions outside their main specialization. This practice reflects a tendency for the division of labor to blur, which has the potential to affect the workload and dynamics of work relations in the creative sector. Various previous studies have discussed this condition through the concepts of creative labor, excessive workload, role burden, and passion-based work culture, but the discussion is still dominated by the perspective of contemporary work relations. This study aims to analyze the PALUGADA phenomenon through the perspective of Émile Durkheim's division of labor as an effort to broaden the way of understanding the dynamics of work in the creative sector. The study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through a review of Durkheim's main works and various scientific articles on creative workers, the division of labor, and workload. The results of the initial review indicate that the PALUGADA practice is not only related to the increase in the workload of creative workers, but also illustrates changes in the pattern of the division of labor that can be read from a classical sociological perspective.
