Abstract
Abstract
Objective of this study is to determine validity of parenting practice instrument, Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ). This instrument consists five subscales, those are involvement with children, positive parenting, monitoring parenting, consistency in the use of such discipline and corporal punishment, with 44 items in total. This instrument was tested to students of Cikarang Barat Public Vocational School. Number of sample was 339 students, chosen using probability sampling technique. Factor analysis method used in this study was Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using LISREL. Result of this study indicates that all subscales are fit to measure one factor model, but involvement with children subscale needed measurement model modification to get fit value.
