Analisis Struktur Faktor Variabel Trait Personality

Abstract

Trait personality is a character consistently with individual behavior in every situation and stabil across time. Big Five Trait Personality is a psychological approach which has five trait personality, neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness that used to analyzing personality. Researcher used Big Five Inventory (BFI) to measure Big Five Personality and added 16 items to 44 items. So, this research has 60 items of BFI with five traits and each trait has six dimensions. This research aims to test structural factor model of trait personality with confirmatory factor analysis method. Data collected from 230 PT. Garuda Indonesia (persero), Tbk employees. Result showed that it’s true that trait personality has five dimensions and there’s error of measurement caused by multidimensional items.

 

Abstrak

Kepribadian Trait merupakan sifat yang dinyatakan secara konsisten dalam perilaku individu di berbagai situasi berbeda yang stabil dari waktu ke waktu (Mischel, dkk; 2003). Big Five Trait Personality merupakan pendekatan psikologi yang memiliki lima trait kepribadian neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, dan conscientiousness yang digunakan untuk menganalisis kepribadian seseorang. Alat ukur yang peneliti gunakan adalah BFI (Big Five Inventory). Awalnya skala ini terdiri dari 44 item, kemudian peneliti menambahkan 16 item. Hasilnya skala ini terdiri dari 60 item yang mewakili kelima trait, dimana setiap trait memiliki 6 sifat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji model struktur faktor trait personality. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari 230 karyawan PT. Garuda Indonesia (persero), Tbk. Peneliti melakukan pengujian model struktur faktor instrumen pengukuran ini didasari oleh metode analisis faktor berupa confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa trait personality terdiri dari lima dimensi dan juga terdapat kesalahan pengukuran disebabkan item yang bersifat multidimensional.
